What a crazy couple of months I've had! Since the end of August we have had 11 productions happening with 155 children involved. The last show was on Tuesday but I still feel like I'm recovering!
As a one man band I have to organise all aspects of the shows, including costumes, set, sound and lighting plus much much more but to be honest I absolutely love it, I'm a bit of a control freak so really couldn't imagine handing over the reigns to anyone else ha! Saying that though, I couldn't run the shows and do what I do without all the parent helpers back stage so big shout out to all of you for everything!
I am always looking at ways to improve and how to make things easier for future productions... the biggest lesson I have learnt during these shows is to not ask for the cast to have scalp plaits, as it turns out not many people are able to do them! I dont think I have ever plaited so much hair in my life, they did look fab though so that's the main thing!
I'm sat now flicking through photos that were taken during the different shows and I'm just filled with total admiration for my little Starz... to get on that stage and perform so beautifully in front of so many people really is a fantastic achievement. The feedback we have received from the audiences has been fantastic, and the children are so excited to find out what we are doing next. I best get planning, don't want to keep them in suspense for to long!
